Since 2022 MEDS has enabled research that considers how conflict has shaped the outlook of people from Iraq and Syria affected by the IS-era.
The research is based on personal interviews and it aims to both assess the impact of conflict and also help the interviewees process the effects of their IS- related experiences, offering a safe space to verbalize questions and provide interviewees with support by offering to establish contact with professional counsellors.
The research findings will be helpful for people engaged in work among those who have lived through such experiences, especially those involved in trauma healing activities or other forms of psychological support.
