MEDS is exploring partnerships within the local health system and the community to enable healthy lives, especially in the area of non-communicable diseases.
Medical Education
MEDS has connections with medical education institutions in the region and is active in pursuing opportunities for further professional development among healthcare students and providers.
Essential Pain Management
Dr Roy Miller, a consultant anesthetist from the UK with MEDS, has partnered with the Nursing and Midwifery Development Centre (NMDC), Erbil, to provide training in pain management.
In February 2025, about twenty people from a variety of backgrounds attended the session which was based on the Essential Pain Management Lite programme and provides a structure to allow participants to recognise, assess and treat pain. Further training sessions are planned.
